The Pepita Porsche’s iconic houndstooth, born on the seats of the 911 in the 1960s became the blueprint for an entire inhabitable universe. For The Art of Dreams at Milan Design Week 2024, the challenge wasn’t to display an object. It was to build a world around a geometry.

Hosted in the breathtaking cortile d'onore of Palazzo Clerici, the installation by collective Numen/For Use translated the Pepita motif into a system of slender black and white metal frames supporting woven metal nets structures visitors could sit on, lie in, move through. Pattern became volume. Heritage became space.
MLM's role alongside Amsterdam Berlin was to take that vision from concept to construction engineering a structure delicate enough to feel like drawing, strong enough to hold the weight of a crowd.

Creating a project like this is never about assembling pieces. It's about understanding what each element carries historically, spatially, experientially and making sure the final structure holds all of it. The art of shaping function with beauty isn't a philosophy. It's a method.
Palazzo Clerici provided the frame. The Pepita provided the logic. We provided the rest.
